A classic recipe for homemade biscuits that are quick to make and delicious.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour sifted
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ cup butter cold, diced
- ¾ cup milk whole

- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add diced butter into the flour mixture and cut it in with a pastry cutter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Pour in the milk and stir gently until just combined.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently a few times.
- Pat or roll the dough to ½ inch thickness.
- Use a biscuit cutter to cut out rounds and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Gather the scraps and gently re-roll to cut more biscuits.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving warm.
Notes
Biscuits are best served warm and can be complemented with butter or jam.
