Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Add diced butter into the flour mixture and cut it in with a pastry cutter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Pour in the milk and stir gently until just combined.
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently a few times.
Pat or roll the dough to ½ inch thickness.
Use a biscuit cutter to cut out rounds and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Gather the scraps and gently re-roll to cut more biscuits.
Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
Allow to cool slightly before serving warm.
Notes
Biscuits are best served warm and can be complemented with butter or jam.
