
Swirled Garlic Herb and Cheese Bread

- ¾ cups buttermilk at room temperature
- 2 ½ teaspoon instant yeast
- 2 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs at room temperature
- 3 ½-4 cups bread flour
- 1 ¼ teaspoon salt
- 4 cloves garlic finely chopped
- 6 tablespoon salted butter at room temperature + more for brushing and serving
- ¼ cup parmesan cheese grated
- 2 cups cheddar cheese grated
- ½ cup fresh basil chopped
- 2 tablespoon fresh thyme chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh oregano chopped
- 2 tablespoon salted butter melted, for topping
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder for topping

- In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine buttermilk, instant yeast, sugar, eggs, 3 ½ cups of the flour, and salt.
- Using dough hook, mix for 4-5 minutes until flour is incorporated.
- Add 2 tablespoon of butter and mix for 2-3 more minutes. Add flour as needed until dough is smooth and elastic.
- Cover bowl with plastic and let rise in warm spot for 2 hours, or until doubled.
- Combine remaining 4 tablespoon butter, garlic, parmesan, basil, thyme, and oregano.
- Punch down the dough and roll into 12x18 inch rectangle. Spread garlic-herb butter and cheddar cheese over dough.
- Roll up tightly from long edge. Slice log lengthwise and twist strands to form braid.
- Transfer to parchment-lined pan, cover with plastic, and let rise another 45 minutes.
- Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder.
- Bake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
