
Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks
These Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks are crispy on the outside with a melty cheese center. A healthier alternative to deep frying, they are easy to make and perfect for any appetizer spread.

- 1 Baking sheet lined with parchment paper
- 1 Air fryer

- 8 mozzarella string cheese
- ¼ cup all purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- ⅔ cup marinara optional

- Unwrap and cut the mozzarella sticks in half.
- Add the flour to a bowl.
- Whisk the eggs together in a second bowl.
- In a third bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Dredge the mozzarella sticks in the flour.
- Dunk the coated sticks in the beaten eggs.
- Roll them in the breadcrumb mixture.
- Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet with space between sticks and freeze for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the air fryer to 390°F.
- Brush mozzarella sticks with olive oil or spray with cooking spray. Place in air fryer basket with space in between.
- Cook for 5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Serve with dipping sauce.
Notes
For extra crispy mozzarella sticks, double dip in the egg and breadcrumbs. Freeze before cooking for best results. Reheat leftovers in air fryer at 390°F for 5 minutes.
