Instructions
Mix the flour, sugar, spice, and salt in a bowl.
Warm the milk and add yeast, let stand for 5 minutes.
Combine milk mixture with beaten eggs and melted butter.
Mix wet ingredients with dry until a dough forms.
Knead the dough and add raisins, orange zest, and apple.
Cover dough and let rise until doubled in size, about 1.5 hours.
Divide dough into 12 pieces and shape into balls.
Place on baking tray and leave to prove for another hour.
Mix plain flour with water to make a paste for the cross.
Pipe crosses on top and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 20-22 minutes.
Notes
Serve buns warm with butter or jam.
