1 Frying pan or skillet
1 Spatula
1 Knife
1 Cutting board
1 Grater for cheese
- 8 slices bread White or whole wheat.
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese About 4 oz.
- 1 cup diced ham About 6 oz.
- 1 cup canned pineapple chunks Drained, about 8 oz.
- ¼ cup pizza sauce Optional.
- 4 tablespoons butter ½ stick.
Start by heating your frying pan or skillet over medium heat.
While the pan is heating, butter one side of each slice of bread.
On the unbuttered side of four slices of bread, layer half of the shredded mozzarella cheese.
Add an even layer of diced ham on top of the cheese followed by the drained pineapple chunks.
If using, spread pizza sauce on the unbuttered side of the remaining four slices of bread, then place them on top of the sandwiches, buttered side up.
Once the pan is hot, place the sandwiches in the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until golden brown and the cheese starts to melt.
Carefully flip each sandwich using a spatula and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes on the other side.
Once both sides are golden brown and the cheese is fully melted, remove the sandwiches from the pan and let them cool for a minute before slicing in half.
Feel free to customize your sandwich with additional toppings like jalapeños or bell peppers for an extra kick.
For a richer flavor, try using a blend of mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
Serve with a side of your favorite salad or chips for a complete meal.
