Equipment

  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 wooden spoon or spatula
  • 1 baking sheet
  • 1 plastic wrap or kitchen towel
  • 1 oven

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm milk About 110°F
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter Melted
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  • Add the melted butter, eggs, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until combined.
  • Gradually add the all-purpose flour, one cup at a time, mixing with a wooden spoon or spatula until a dough forms.
  • Once the dough comes together, knead it on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, until it is smooth and elastic.
  • Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
  • After the dough has risen, punch it down to release any air bubbles. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball.
  • Place the dough balls onto a greased baking sheet, leaving some space between them. Cover and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Bake the rolls for 12-15 minutes or until they are golden brown on top.
  • Remove from the oven and brush with additional melted butter if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

You can add herbs or cheese to the dough for additional flavor.
These rolls are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for a couple of days.
Great for holidays, family gatherings, or casual dinners.
