  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon ground
  • ½ cup Butter softened
  • 2 Eggs large
  • 1 cup Sour cream
  • 2 cups Apples peeled and chopped
  • ½ cup Brown sugar packed
  • ¼ cup Walnuts chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon Nutmeg ground
  • ¼ cup Butter melted
  • 2 tablespoon Milk
  • 1 powdered sugar Cup
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoon Maple syrup

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Add the softened butter and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Stir in eggs one at a time, then add sour cream and vanilla extract.
  • Fold in chopped apples gently until well incorporated.
  • Pour half of the batter into a greased pressure cooker pan.
  • In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar, walnuts, nutmeg, and maple syrup. Spread over the batter.
  • Top with remaining batter and smooth out evenly.
  • Place the pan in the pressure cooker and cook on high pressure for 30 minutes. Allow natural release.
  • Once cooled, drizzle with icing made from powdered sugar and milk. Serve.

Notes

This cake is perfect for any gathering or afternoon tea. Substitute walnuts with pecans if preferred.
