- 4 pieces tuna steaks 6 ounces each
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
- 1 teaspoon honey
- to taste salt
- to taste black pepper
- optional fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish
In a bowl, whisk together the olive oil, soy sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, grated ginger, honey, salt, and black pepper to create the marinade.
Place the tuna steaks in a shallow dish or resealable bag. Pour the marinade over the steaks, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes (or up to 1 hour for a stronger flavor).
Preheat the grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
Remove the tuna steaks from the marinade and shake off excess marinade. Discard the leftover marinade.
Place the tuna steaks on the grill. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached. The internal temperature should be around 125°F (52°C) for medium-rare.
Once cooked, remove the tuna steaks from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro if desired, and serve on a plate.
Tuna steak is best enjoyed medium-rare to maintain its moist texture; however, you can adjust the cooking time based on your preference.
Serve with a side of grilled vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
If you prefer a spicier kick, consider adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinade.
