Mix brown sugar, paprika, salt, pepper, and garlic powder to create the dry rub.
¼ cup Brown sugar,
2 tbsp Paprika,
1 tbsp Salt,
1 tbsp Black pepper,
1 tbsp Garlic powder
Rub the mixture all over the pork shoulder, coating it evenly.
Place pork in the slow cooker and pour chicken broth around it.
1 cup Chicken broth
Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours, until pork is tender and easily shredded.
Remove pork from slow cooker and shred using two forks.
Discard excess liquid from slow cooker and return shredded pork to the cooker.
Mix in BBQ sauce and heat through before serving.

Notes
For a smoky flavor, add a few drops of liquid smoke to the BBQ sauce. Serve with coleslaw or on buns as sandwiches.
