  • 8 oz cream cheese softened so it mixes smooth
  • 1 cup fresh crab meat drained but juicy
  • 2 green onions chopped fine
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder to punch up the flavor
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce adds a salty hit
  • 1 package wonton wrappers you'll need plenty
  • oil for frying
  • water for sealing wonton edges
  • lemon optional squeeze
  • paper towels for draining

  • First, you mix up the filling in a bowl. Cream cheese, crab meat, green onions, garlic powder, and soy sauce get all blended until it looks nice and spreadable.
  • Next, lay out a wonton wrapper flat on your clean surface. Take a spoonful of the crab mix and place it in the center.
  • Moisten the edge of the wrapper with a dab of water. Fold into a neat triangle, pressing tight so it seals well.
  • Fry in batches in hot oil in a deep pan over medium heat, for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  • Transfer to paper towels to drain excess oil.
  • Serve hot, remembering to watch for the valve hiss and slow release that makes the filling perfect.
