Cook halved bacon slices over medium heat until crisp, then drain on paper towels.
Sauté chopped onion and green pepper in leftover bacon drippings until translucent.
Mix pork and beans, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, and mustard in a big bowl.
Stir in sautéed onion, green pepper, and crumbled bacon bits.
Dump mixture into a baking dish and spread evenly.
Bake uncovered for about 30 minutes until bubbly.
