  • 84 oz Pork and beans 3 cans, 28 oz each
  • ¾ cup Barbecue sauce
  • ½ cup Brown sugar
  • ¼ cup Distilled vinegar or cider vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons Dry mustard or 2 tablespoons dijon mustard

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 Celsius).
  • Cook halved bacon slices over medium heat until crisp, then drain on paper towels.
  • Sauté chopped onion and green pepper in leftover bacon drippings until translucent.
  • Mix pork and beans, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, and mustard in a big bowl.
  • Stir in sautéed onion, green pepper, and crumbled bacon bits.
  • Dump mixture into a baking dish and spread evenly.
  • Bake uncovered for about 30 minutes until bubbly.
