Main Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil for browning beef
  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon Crushed red pepper flakes adjust to taste
  • ½ cup Thai basil chopped
  • 12 Rice paper wrappers
  • 1 cup Shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup Shredded carrots
  • 1 Cucumber julienned
  • ½ cup Fresh mint leaves
  • 1 Dipping sauce any type you like on the side

Instructions

  • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Add minced garlic, soy sauce, fish sauce, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  • Remove skillet from heat and stir in chopped Thai basil.
  • Soak a rice paper wrapper in warm water for 5-10 seconds until soft.
  • Place beef mixture, shredded lettuce, carrots, cucumber, and mint in the center of the wrapper.
  • Fold sides over and roll tightly to enclose the filling.
  • Repeat with remaining wrappers and serve with dipping sauce.

Notes

Wrap leftover rolls individually and refrigerate for up to 2 days. Keep dipping sauce separate. Freeze beef filling to roll again fresh later.
