  • 8 ounces uncooked pasta penne or rigatoni preferred
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2-3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 14 ounce can tomato sauce
  • ¾ cup heavy or whipping cream
  • ¼ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Freshly grated parmesan cheese for serving

  • Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Stir in tomato paste and cook for 1-2 minutes to remove raw taste.
  • Add tomato sauce and let it gently simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to low and add heavy cream and Italian seasoning. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Toss cooked pasta with the sauce until well coated.
  • Serve immediately topped with freshly grated parmesan cheese.

Notes

Store any leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat gently with a splash of water or broth to maintain creaminess.
