This spicy, sweet and creamy Chicken Diablo is a super easy dinner, that will satisfy the family. Ramp the heat up, or dial it down to your liking!

  • ½ cup hot sauce The spicy kick star of this dish.
  • 1 cup sour cream Balances heat with creamy coolness.
  • ½ cup ketchup Adds tang and a hint of sweetness.
  • ¼ cup honey Sweetens that spicy punch just right.
  • 1.5 teaspoons smoked paprika Gives a deep smoky flavor that sneaks in good.
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin Brings earthiness that makes flavors pop.
  • 4 chicken breast cutlets Thinly pounded for fast cooking and tender.
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil For that nice sear and glaze.
  • 4 cloves minced garlic Adds a sharp, fresh burst on top.
  • 2 scallions Chopped finely to brighten up the plate and taste.

  • In a bowl, combine hot sauce, sour cream, ketchup, honey, smoked paprika, and cumin. Stir until combined.
  • Place chicken cutlets in a large resealable bag, pour marinade over. Seal and marinate in fridge for at least 30 minutes.
  • Heat oil in skillet over medium-high heat. Brown chicken on both sides, 10-15 minutes, till cooked through.
  • After cooking, let chicken rest for a few minutes.
  • Before serving, sprinkle with garlic and scallions. Serve with remaining warmed marinade as sauce.
  • Devour and enjoy.

Notes

Cook the chicken at medium heat. Avoid too high of a heat to prevent the honey from burning. Discard marinade used on raw chicken and make a sauce from the reserved marinade. Adjust hot sauce based on desired spice level.
