Ingredients
  

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts About 1.5 pounds.
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • to taste leaves fresh basil For garnish, optional.

Instructions
 

  • Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the marinara sauce, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  • Pour the marinara mixture over the chicken breasts, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  • Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 4 hours or until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
  • After 4 hours, sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese over the chicken. Cover and cook for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Once done, carefully remove the chicken from the slow cooker and serve hot, garnished with fresh basil if desired.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, you can add a tablespoon of cornstarch mixed with water during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
This dish pairs well with pasta, rice, or a side salad.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
