Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (8 biscuits)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Add the diced onion and bell pepper to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes.
  • Pour the beef mixture into the casserole dish and spread it evenly.
  • Open the can of biscuit dough and cut each biscuit into four pieces. Place the pieces evenly over the top of the beef mixture.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the biscuit dough.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Feel free to add more vegetables, like mushrooms or zucchini, to the beef mixture for extra nutrition.
This dish is great for leftovers and can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
You can substitute turkey or chicken for the ground beef for a lighter version.
