  • 12 ounces ziti pasta or penne
  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts cut into ½ inch pieces
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon dried basil
  • 2 cups tomato sauce Trader Joe's Tomato Basil Sauce
  • ¼ cup fresh basil chopped
  • ½ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 ¼ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  • Cook the ziti according to the package directions until it’s just al dente.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet, sprinkle chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and dried basil.
  • Throw the chicken in the skillet, brown and cook through for 6 to 8 minutes.
  • Mix cooked ziti, chicken, sauce, and fresh basil in a big bowl.
  • Transfer to baking dish, sprinkle parmesan and mozzarella over the top.
  • Bake 20 to 25 minutes until cheese is melted and golden brown.

Notes

Use pre-cooked or rotisserie chicken to save time. Swap ziti for any pasta, or use jarred cheese to skip grating.
