Instructions
In a bowl, combine ground turkey, basil pesto, egg, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, salt, and red pepper flakes. Mix thoroughly but avoid over-mixing.
Form the mixture into 4 equal-sized burger patties and set aside.
Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat and lightly oil the surface.
Cook patties for 5 to 7 minutes per side, until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
In the last minute of cooking, place a cheese slice on each patty and cover to melt.
Lightly toast the buns if desired.
Assemble burgers with patties, sliced tomato, extra pesto, and preferred toppings.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
Try store-bought pesto for convenience or prep and freeze patties for later meals. Keep leftovers fresh by wrapping tightly and reheating gently.
