Equipment

  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 hand mixer or whisk
  • 1 silicone egg mold or plastic egg molds
  • 1 microwave-safe bowl
  • 1 piping bag or plastic sandwich bag

Ingredients

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips 6 oz
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips 3 oz
  • ½ cup heavy cream 120 ml
  • ½ cup powdered sugar 60 g
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pair food coloring Yellow and black
  • 1 package blue candy melts Or blue icing

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Use a hand mixer or whisk to beat until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
  • Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth.
  • Lightly coat the insides of the silicone molds with the melted semi-sweet chocolate, ensuring an even layer. If using plastic egg molds, fill half of each mold.
  • Place the molds in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes or until the chocolate has set.
  • Fill the chilled chocolate shells with the creamy filling, leaving some space at the top for the chocolate layer.
  • Melt more semi-sweet chocolate if needed and cover the filling to seal the eggs. Place back in the fridge to set for another 10 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, melt the white chocolate chips in the microwave and add yellow food coloring until you achieve the desired Minion yellow color.
  • Once the chocolate eggs are set, carefully remove them from the molds and dip the tops in the yellow chocolate. Allow excess to drip off.
  • Use black food coloring or melted dark chocolate to pipe on eyes, glasses, and any other facial features to create your Minion faces.
  • If using blue candy melts, melt and dip the bottoms of the eggs in blue candy melt to create overalls for the Minions. Allow to cool and set.

Notes

You can customize the fillings by adding crushed cookies or sprinkles to the creamy mixture.
Make sure to adjust the decorations based on your creativity; add fun expressions or add different colored candy melts for more variety.
