Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini or ciliegine)
  • ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes Adjust the amount according to spice preference.

  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • cherry tomatoes or black olives (optional) For added flavor.

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, dried oregano, dried basil, crushed red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until well combined.
  • Add the mozzarella balls to the bowl, ensuring they are well coated with the marinade.
  • Transfer the mozzarella and marinade into an airtight container or jar. If using, add cherry tomatoes or black olives for extra flavor.
  • Seal the container and allow the mozzarella to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or overnight for the best flavor.
  • When ready to serve, remove from the refrigerator and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
  • Optional: Consider pairing the marinated mozzarella with crusty bread or adding it to salads or charcuterie boards for extra flavor.

Notes

Marinated mozzarella can be made up to 2 days in advance. The flavors will enhance as it sits.
