Equipment

  • 1 pressure cooker with sealing ring ready
  • 1 large skillet for cooking before pressure cooker

Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans trimmed
  • 0.5 large onion chopped
  • 6 strips crispy bacon
  • 0.5 cup dried cranberries
  • 0.25 cup pure maple syrup
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt or more to taste
  • 0.5 teaspoon pepper or adjust as you like

Instructions

Instructions

  • Start by cookin bacon in a large skillet over medium heat. You want it crisp but not burnt. Once done, take it out and drain on paper towels.
  • In the same skillet, throw in your chopped onions. Cook 'em slow until caramelized, about 8-10 minutes. Stir every now and then.
  • Next, add your trimmed green beans to that skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until tender but still with a little snap.
  • Stir in the dried cranberries, maple syrup, salt, and pepper right into the skillet mixture. Mix well.
  • Crumble your cooked bacon and toss it back in the skillet. Mix all together so the bacon bits get spread out.
  • Transfer everything carefully from the skillet into your pressure cooker. Lock the lid with the sealing ring in place and set the valve to sealing position.
Cook on high pressure for about 2 minutes, then do a quick release to stop cooking fast.

Notes

Serve warm for best taste and that nice combo of sweet, salty, and tender.
