Equipment

  • 1 kettle or pot
  • 1 measuring cups
  • 1 measuring spoons
  • 1 pitcher
  • 1 strainer
  • 4 glasses for serving

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups water
  • 4 bags green tea
  • 1 large lemon juice and zest
  • 1 inch fresh ginger peeled and sliced
  • 4 tablespoons honey or to taste
  • ice cubes
  • fresh mint leaves for garnish, optional

Instructions
 

  • Begin by boiling the 4 cups of water in a kettle or pot. Once boiling, remove it from heat.
  • Add the 4 green tea bags to the hot water and let it steep for about 5 minutes. Then, remove the tea bags and discard them.
  • While the tea is still warm, add the freshly squeezed juice of the lemon and its zest, as well as the sliced ginger.
  • Stir in the honey until it dissolves completely. Adjust sweetness if needed.
  • Let the mixture cool at room temperature for about 10 minutes, then strain out the ginger slices using a strainer.
  • Once cooled, transfer the tea to a pitcher and refrigerate until it's chilled.
  • To serve, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the iced tea over. Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.

Notes

For a stronger ginger flavor, you can let the ginger steep longer in the hot tea.
Feel free to adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey.
This beverage can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days.
Experiment with other herbs or fruits for different flavor combinations.
