- 4 fillets salmon 6 oz each
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1 lemon lemon juice and zest
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley or 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
Begin by patting the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper and set aside.
In a large skillet, melt 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Squeeze in the juice of the lemon and add the lemon zest to the pan. Stir the mixture to combine.
Place the seasoned salmon fillets skin-side down in the skillet. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until the salmon is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 145°F).
During the last minute of cooking, sprinkle dried or fresh parsley over the salmon for added flavor.
Once cooked, carefully remove the salmon from the skillet and spoon the garlic lemon butter sauce over the fillets before serving.
For an extra touch, you can garnish the salmon with extra lemon wedges and fresh herbs.
This dish pairs well with steamed vegetables or a light salad for a complete meal.
Leftover salmon can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
