1 Zester (optional)
1 Cutting board
- 4 fillets salmon 6 ounces each
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 lemon zest of 1 lemon
- to taste salt
- to taste black pepper
- for garnish fresh parsley chopped
- for serving lemon slices
Start by patting the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with salt and black pepper to taste.
In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to let it burn.
Gently place the seasoned salmon fillets in the skillet, skin-side down (if applicable), and cook for about 4-5 minutes without moving them, allowing a crust to form.
Carefully flip the fillets and pour the lemon juice and lemon zest over them. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
Remove the skillet from heat and allow the salmon to rest for a minute.
Serve the salmon on plates, drizzled with the remaining garlic butter from the skillet, and garnish with fresh parsley. Add lemon slices on the side for an extra citrus kick.
For an extra layer of flavor, consider marinating the salmon in lemon juice, garlic, and herbs for 30 minutes before cooking.
Serve this dish with steamed vegetables or rice for a complete meal.
