Ingredients
  

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts About 1.5 pounds.
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic Minced.
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 2 pieces lemons Juice of 2 lemons.
  • 1 piece lemon Zest of 1 lemon.
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme Or 1 tablespoon fresh thyme.
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper
  • to garnish fresh parsley Chopped.

Instructions
 

  • Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and black pepper.
  • In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 5-7 minutes on one side until golden brown.
  • Flip the chicken breasts and add the minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Pour in the chicken broth, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Bring to a simmer and reduce heat to medium-low.
  • Cover the skillet and cook for an additional 10-12 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  • Once cooked, remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
  • Increase the heat and let the sauce simmer for a couple of minutes. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and stir until melted and the sauce is slightly thickened.
  • Stir in the dried thyme, adjusting salt and pepper as needed. Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the top.
  • Serve the chicken hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.

Notes

You can serve this Lemon Butter Chicken over rice, pasta, or with a side of vegetables for a complete meal.
Leftover sauce can be saved in the fridge for up to 3 days and can be used to drizzle over vegetables or other meats.
For a spicier kick, consider adding red pepper flakes to the sauce.
