  • ½ cup Kimchi packed, sliced
  • ¼ medium Onion thinly sliced, optional
  • ½ cup Cheese shredded or 2 slices (mozzarella, American, provolone, etc)
  • 2 pieces Hamburger buns or hoagie rolls or 4 slices of bread

Instructions

  • Heat your skillet over medium-high heat and add butter or olive oil. Let it shimmer and smell nice.
  • If using onion, add the sliced onion and sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened but not browned.
  • Add marinated bulgogi meat to the pan and cook until brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. If using cooked bulgogi, just reheat.
  • Add kimchi and chosen hot sauce, stir and cook for another 2 minutes to blend flavors.
  • Slice and lightly toast hamburger buns, hoagie rolls, or bread slices until edges are buttery and golden.
  • Spread mayonnaise on toasted bread, add lettuce leaves, then pile on bulgogi and kimchi mixture.
  • Sprinkle or layer cheese on top of the hot bulgogi and kimchi so it melts perfectly.
  • Close the sandwich and serve immediately, enjoying the warm, spicy, and cheesy flavors.
  • Optional: Mix mayonnaise with gochujang to make a spicy mayo and use as a condiment.
  • Clean up and enjoy your delicious kimchi bulgogi cheesesteak meal.

Notes

Using leftover cooked bulgogi reduces prep time. Store leftovers wrapped tightly or in an airtight container to maintain freshness. Freezing is possible; thaw overnight and reheat gently to preserve moisture and flavor. Adjust hot sauce quantity to taste. Cheese is optional for a cheesesteak twist.
