- 2 medium-sized fresh jalapenos You can adjust the heat level by using more or fewer jalapenos.
- 1 cup kosher salt For a smoky flavor, try using smoked salt instead of kosher salt.
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder Optional.
Preheat your oven to 200°F (95°C).
Slice the jalapenos in half lengthwise and remove the seeds. You can use gloves to protect your hands from the heat.
Place the jalapeno halves cut side up on a baking sheet.
Bake in the oven for about 1 hour, or until the jalapenos are dehydrated and crisp.
Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
In a food processor or spice grinder, combine the dehydrated jalapenos, kosher salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.
