- 1 lb broccoli florets
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese Can be substituted with nutritional yeast for a vegan option.
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes Optional.
- lemon wedges For serving, optional.
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine the broccoli florets, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Toss until the broccoli is evenly coated.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup (optional). Spread the broccoli in a single layer on the baking sheet.
Roast the broccoli in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the florets are tender and slightly crispy.
Remove the baking sheet from the oven and immediately sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the hot broccoli. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the cheese to melt and slightly brown.
Once done, remove from the oven, and serve hot with lemon wedges on the side, if desired.
You can substitute the Parmesan with nutritional yeast for a vegan option.
Feel free to mix in other seasonings to suit your taste, such as garlic powder or Italian seasoning.
This roasted broccoli pairs well with grilled chicken, fish, or as part of a vegetarian meal.
