Garlic Butter Steak Bites and Smashed Potatoes
This hearty one-pan dish brings together juicy tender steak bites seared in garlic butter with crispy smashed potatoes topped with melty cheddar and fresh green onions. It’s high comfort food you can have on the table in under 30 minutes.

Instructions
Preheat oven to 425°F. Toss baby potatoes with olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Roast for 25 minutes until golden & tender.
Season strip steaks with Montreal Steak Seasoning.
Heat skillet with olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear steaks for 3–4 minutes per side until desired doneness. Let rest.
In same skillet, melt butter over medium heat, add minced garlic and sauté 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
Slice rested steaks into bite-sized pieces, return to skillet, and toss with garlic butter mixture.
Remove roasted potatoes, gently smash each one with bottom of a glass or utensil.
Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on potatoes and return to oven for 5 minutes until melted.
Plate steak bites over cheesy smashed potatoes.
Top with chopped green onions and serve.
Notes
Two strip steaks feed four, but scale up for bigger families. For melty cheese, keep an eye on broiling near the end.
