  • 2 cups Matzah meal
  • 4 Eggs large
  • ¼ cup Vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup Water
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh dill optional

  • Dump your matzah meal, salt, and pepper into a large bowl. Stir to mix evenly.
  • In a different bowl, beat eggs, then add oil and water. Mix to make a batter.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients. Stir until just combined.
  • Cover the mixture and chill for at least 30 minutes.
  • Boil salted water in a pot. Shape chilled mix into balls.
  • Gently drop balls into boiling water. Simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Use a slotted spoon to remove cooked balls. Let drain.
  • Serve matzah balls in your favorite soup or broth.

Notes

For savory flavor, serve the matzah balls with broth that soaks up all the herbs.
