  • 4 Onions large, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 32 oz Beef broth
  • 3 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 slices Thick crusty bread
  • 4 slices Provolone or Gruyere cheese

  • Melt the butter in your pressure cooker pot over medium heat.
  • Add the thinly sliced onions and stir frequently for about 20 minutes until golden brown and sweet.
  • Sprinkle in the black pepper and garlic powder. Mix well.
  • Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Stir, then seal the lid of the pressure cooker.
  • Bring to pressure and cook for about 12 minutes. Let slow release after cooking.
  • Preheat broiler while soup finishes. Ladle the soup into oven-safe bowls.
  • Top each with toasted bread and a slice of cheese.
  • Place bowls under broiler for 2-3 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

You can add a pinch of thyme or a bay leaf while cooking for an herby twist. Freezes great for make-ahead meals!
