1 measuring cup
1 measuring spoon
1 loaf pan (9x5 inches)
1 whisk or fork
1 rubber spatula
1 oven
- 3 medium-sized ripe bananas Use very ripe bananas for best flavor.
- ⅓ cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- a pinch none salt
- ¾ cup sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup chocolate chips
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your loaf pan with cooking spray or butter.
In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
Stir in the melted butter until well combined.
Mix in the baking soda and salt.
Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, stirring until the mixture is smooth.
Gently fold in the all-purpose flour until just incorporated, being careful not to overmix.
Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
For best flavor, use very ripe bananas. The darker the bananas, the sweeter your bread will be.
You can store leftover banana bread in an airtight container for up to 4 days or freeze it for longer storage.
Feel free to add nuts or substitute some of the chocolate chips with peanut butter chips for a different flavor.
