In a mixing bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
Add melted butter, sugar, salt, and the egg to the yeast mixture. Whisk until well combined.
Gradually add the all-purpose flour, one cup at a time, mixing until a dough forms.
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (if using).
Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a roll by rolling it between your hands.
Place the rolls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each one. Cover and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
