Equipment

  • 1 mixing bowls
  • 1 electric mixer or whisk
  • 1 9x13 inch baking dish
  • 1 rolling pin
  • 1 spatula

Ingredients

  • 1 package (15.35 oz) Oreo cookies, crushed
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 cups milk
  • 2 packages (3.9 oz each) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 12 oz container of whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
  • 1 bag gummy worms

Instructions

  • Start by crushing the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a rolling pin or food processor. Set aside half of the crumbs for topping.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, softened cream cheese, and powdered sugar. Beat together until smooth and creamy.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the milk and the instant chocolate pudding mix for about 2 minutes until it thickens.
  • Fold the whipped topping into the chocolate pudding mixture until well combined. Then, gently fold in the cream cheese mixture until smooth.
  • In the 9x13 inch baking dish, layer half of the crushed Oreo cookies on the bottom. Spread half of the pudding mixture over the cookies.
  • Repeat the layers with the remaining Oreo crumbs and pudding mixture. Smooth the top with a spatula.
  • Crumble the remaining Oreo cookies on top to create a 'dirt' effect. Decorate with gummy worms by placing them strategically on the top.
  • Refrigerate the Easter Dirt Cake for at least 2 hours before serving, allowing it to set.
