Equipment

  • 1 9x13 inch baking pan
  • 1 mixing bowls
  • 1 whisk or electric mixer
  • 1 rubber spatula
  • 1 measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 toothpick for testing
  • 1 parchment paper (optional)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup chocolate chips optional
  • ½ cup Easter-themed candies like mini chocolate eggs or jelly beans for topping

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease the baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  • In a large mixing bowl, melt the butter in the microwave or on the stovetop. Allow it to cool slightly.
  • Whisk the granulated sugar into the melted butter until combined. Add the eggs, one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. If using, fold in the chocolate chips at this stage.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly with a spatula.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Once cooled, top the brownies with Easter-themed candies, pressing them gently into the surface for decoration.
  • Cut into 12 equal squares and enjoy your festive Easter brownies!

Notes

For an extra fudgy texture, be careful not to overbake the brownies. It's okay if they look slightly underdone when you take them out of the oven.
You can customize the toppings based on your preferences or what’s available, such as using sprinkles or other seasonal candies.
These brownies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Enjoy celebrating Easter with this sweet treat!
