1 skillet
1 spatula
1 measuring cups
1 measuring spoons
1 large mixing bowl
4 wraps or tortillas
- 1 lb plant-based ground meat
- 1 cup shredded vegan cheese
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 cup lettuce, shredded
- 4 whole wheat wraps or tortillas
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 2 tablespoons mustard
- to taste salt and pepper
- optional pickles, sliced jalapeños, or avocado for topping For customization.
Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until it becomes translucent.
Add the plant-based ground meat to the skillet, using a spatula to crumble it. Cook for around 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally until it's heated through and slightly browned.
Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste. Stir in the ketchup and mustard, mixing well to combine. Remove the skillet from the heat.
Lay out the whole wheat wraps or tortillas on a flat surface. Spoon an even amount of the plant-based meat mixture into the center of each wrap.
Top each wrap with shredded vegan cheese, diced tomatoes, and shredded lettuce. You can also add pickles, jalapeños, or avocado if desired.
Fold the sides of the wrap toward the center, then roll it up from the bottom to enclose the filling. Ensure the filling stays secure inside.
Optionally, place the wraps back in the skillet for 1-2 minutes to toast them lightly on both sides for added flavor and crispiness.
Slice the wraps in half and serve immediately with extra ketchup or mustard for dipping.
For a spicier kick, consider adding chili powder or hot sauce to the plant-based meat mixture.
These wraps can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Just reheat before serving.
Feel free to customize the toppings to suit your taste preference.
