In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped steak, potatoes, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix together until the ingredients are evenly seasoned.
Pour the beef broth into the bottom of the crockpot.
Add the seasoned steak and potato mixture on top of the broth.
Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6 hours, or until the steak and potatoes are tender.
About 15 minutes before serving, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the mixture. Cover to allow the cheese to melt.
When ready to serve, top with crumbled bacon and sliced green onions. Serve warm, optionally with sour cream on the side.
