- 8 ounces bowtie pasta
- 1 pound ground beef
- 8 ounces Velveeta cheese cubed
- 1 cup milk
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- optional chopped parsley for garnish
In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add a pinch of salt and the bowtie pasta. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, then drain in a colander.
While the pasta is boiling, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until the onion is translucent (about 3-4 minutes).
Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned and no longer pink, breaking it apart as it cooks (about 5-7 minutes). Drain any excess grease.
Reduce heat to low and stir in the cubed Velveeta cheese and milk. Cook until the cheese is melted and the mixture is creamy, stirring frequently to combine (about 2-3 minutes).
Add the drained bowtie pasta to the skillet, stirring to combine everything well. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Heat through for another 2-3 minutes.
Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley if desired.
Feel free to add vegetables such as bell peppers or spinach for added nutrition.
Adjust the amount of milk for creamier or thicker sauce based on personal preference.
Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the microwave.
