Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the Italian sausage. Cook while breaking into crumbles until fully browned, then drain excess fat.
Add garlic, diced peppers, and diced mushrooms. Cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring, until vegetables begin to soften.
Add salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and Italian seasoning. Stir to combine.
Add broth, tomato sauce, milk, and pasta to the pan. Stir to mix everything thoroughly. Bring mixture to a simmer.
Lower the heat to medium-low, cover, and cook for 8 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then uncover and cook another 5-7 minutes until pasta is al dente.
Stir in cream cheese and parmesan cheese. Stir until fully melted and incorporated into a creamy sauce. Serve hot.
Notes
If your sausage isn't well seasoned, adjust salt and spice as needed to taste. Leftovers store well and are great for meal prep!
