Equipment

  • 1 large pot
  • 1 colander
  • 1 large skillet
  • 1 wooden spoon or spatula
  • 1 measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 chopping board

Ingredients

  • 8 oz bowtie pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  • Start by boiling a large pot of salted water. Once boiling, add the bowtie pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook for about 3-4 minutes until softened.
  • Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for an additional minute until fragrant.
  • Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  • Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Allow it to cook for about 5 minutes.
  • Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese. Mix well until the cheese has melted and the sauce is creamy.
  • Add the cooked bowtie pasta to the skillet, tossing to combine everything thoroughly. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the pasta to soak up the sauce.
  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

Feel free to add vegetables such as spinach or bell peppers for added nutrition.
For a spicier version, consider adding red pepper flakes to the beef while cooking.
