- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened 2 sticks
- ½ cup fresh cranberries, finely chopped
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pinch salt
Start by finely chopping the fresh cranberries. You can use a knife or food processor; just be careful not to purée them.
In a mixing bowl, add the softened unsalted butter. Using an electric mixer or a whisk, beat the butter until it’s creamy and fluffy.
Add the finely chopped cranberries, powdered sugar, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to the bowl with the butter.
Mix all the ingredients together on low speed (or by hand) until combined, then increase the speed to medium and whip until the mixture is well blended and smooth.
Taste and adjust sweetness if needed by adding more powdered sugar or maple syrup.
Transfer the Cranberry Holiday Butter into an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up before serving.
Serve at room temperature with bread, muffins, or use it as a delightful topping for pancakes.
To soften butter quickly, cut it into small cubes and let it sit at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes.
This butter can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks, or in the freezer for up to 3 months. Just let it thaw before use.
Feel free to customize by adding other ingredients, such as orange zest or nuts, for extra flavor.
