Equipment

  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 whisk or fork
  • 1 measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 Ziploc bag or shallow dish
  • 1 grill or oven

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, honey, minced garlic, oregano, thyme, and black pepper. Whisk together until well blended.
  • Place the chicken breasts in a Ziploc bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring that all pieces are well coated.
  • Seal the bag (or cover the dish) and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes for optimal flavor. For best results, marinate for 2 hours or overnight.
  • Preheat your grill or oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the leftover marinade. Grill the chicken for 6-7 minutes per side, or bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, until cooked through and reaching an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  • Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve with your favorite side dishes.

Notes

This marinade also works well for shrimp or vegetables.
You can customize the marinade by adding fresh herbs or spices of your choice.
Storing any leftover marinated chicken in the refrigerator is recommended for no more than 2 days.
