1 medium saucepan
1 wooden spoon
1 cheese grater
1 measuring cups
1 measuring spoons
1 serving bowl
- 16 oz Velveeta cheese, cubed
- 1 can (10 oz) Rotel diced tomatoes with green chiles, undrained
- 1 packet (1 oz) ranch dressing mix
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Tortilla chips for serving
In a medium saucepan, combine the cubed Velveeta cheese, undrained Rotel tomatoes, ranch dressing mix, and milk.
Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir continuously until the cheese starts to melt and the mixture is well combined, about 5-7 minutes.
Once melted and smooth, add the shredded cheddar cheese, chili powder, and garlic powder. Stir well until the cheddar is fully melted and incorporated, approximately 5 more minutes.
Once the queso is hot and creamy, remove it from heat and transfer it to a serving bowl.
Serve immediately with tortilla chips for dipping.
For a spicier kick, consider using hot Rotel tomatoes.
You can also add cooked sausage or ground beef for additional flavor and protein.
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat gently on the stove or in the microwave before serving again.
