Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups cabbage, chopped 1 medium head of cabbage, chopped.
  • 4 cups potatoes, diced 4 medium potatoes, diced.
  • 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced Can substitute with turkey sausage or kielbasa.
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • to taste salt

Instructions
 

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 3 minutes, until softened.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute, until fragrant.
  • Add the sliced sausage to the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned.
  • Incorporate the diced potatoes, chopped cabbage, black pepper, paprika, and salt. Stir well to combine.
  • Pour in the chicken broth, bringing the mixture to a gentle boil.
  • Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and let it simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the potatoes and cabbage are tender.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Notes

You can substitute the smoked sausage with turkey sausage or kielbasa if desired.
