In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, melted butter, and sugar. Stir until the sugar has dissolved.
Add the instant yeast to the mixture and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Gradually add the flour mixture to the milk mixture, along with the eggs and vanilla extract.
Mix until a dough forms. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl and cover it with a clean kitchen towel. Let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in size, about 1 hour.
Once risen, punch down the dough and turn it out onto a floured surface. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces.
Shape each piece into a round bun. For the bunny shape, take one bun and pinch the top to create the 'ears.' Use a knife or kitchen scissors to make two small cuts at the top for the ears.
Place the buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Add raisins or chocolate chips for the eyes.
Cover the buns with the clean kitchen towel and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the buns for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let cool on a cooling rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.
