Equipment

  • 1 Skillet

Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • ½ cup blueberries washed nice and clean for that juicy pop
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar to brighten your berry mix right up
  • 1 teaspoon honey to gently sweeten without overpowering
  • 4 slices artisan bread look for something sturdy but soft in the middle
  • A handful fresh basil picked and washed fresh so it doesn't wilt fast
  • Brie cheese sliced to your liking—don't be shy with it
  • Butter at room temperature so it spreads smoothly on the bread

Instructions

Instructions

  • First up, mix your blueberries, balsamic vinegar, and honey in a bowl. Let it rest while you get things ready—you'll notice the colors blending and juices starting to get excited.
  • Grab your skillet and warm it up over medium heat. Toss in a little butter so it's melted and ready to toast your bread.
  • Butter one side of each bread slice. This is what’s gonna crisp nicely when you put it in the pan.
  • Put two slices of bread butter-side down on the skillet. Now's when you start layering the tasty stuff.
  • Spread the brie slices evenly on the bread, then spoon over that lovely blueberry mixture. Toss fresh basil leaves on top to sprinkle some freshness in.
  • Top the stack with the remaining bread, butter facing up, then let it cook for about 3 to 4 minutes until golden brown. Flip it carefully to the other side and cook until that side’s golden and cheese is melted real good.
  • Take it off the heat and slice it in half. You’ll wanna eat it while it’s warm and gooey, fresh from the skillet.

Notes

Serve warm with a side of fresh salad or soup for a complete meal.
