Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This helps achieve crispiness.
In a large mixing bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper (if using), and baking powder. Mix well to create a marinade.
Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss until fully coated in the marinade.
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
Place the wings in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
Cook the wings at 400°F (200°C) for 25 minutes. Flip them halfway through (around 12-13 minutes) to ensure even cooking and crispiness.
When done, check the internal temperature of the wings. They should reach at least 165°F (75°C).
Remove the wings from the air fryer and let them rest for a couple of minutes before serving on a platter.
Serve with your favorite dipping sauces, such as ranch or blue cheese dressing.
