Equipment

  • 1 baking sheet
  • 1 skillet or frying pan
  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 whisk
  • 1 cutting board
  • 1 oven

Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef tenderloin, trimmed
  • 16 slices French baguette
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Slice the French baguette into 16 pieces, about ½ inch thick. Arrange the slices on a baking sheet and brush each side lightly with olive oil. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
  • Season the beef tenderloin with salt and black pepper. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a bit of oil. Sear the tenderloin for about 5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Remove from the skillet and allow to rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly.
  • In the same skillet, reduce heat to low and add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, continuing to whisk until fully melted and the sauce is smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • To assemble, place a slice of beef tenderloin on each crostini, drizzle with the Parmesan cream sauce, and garnish with chopped parsley.

Notes

For added flavor, you can marinate the beef tenderloin in your favorite herbs and spices before cooking.
Feel free to customize the toppings; sautéed mushrooms or caramelized onions would be delicious additions.
Serve immediately for the best taste and texture, as the crostini may soften over time.
