  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped walnuts

Instructions

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375℉.
  • Cut pears in half lengthwise. Remove the little brown knob at the bottom and hollow out the core carefully so they hold the honey butter well.
  • Mix together the melted butter, honey, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Spoon half of the mixture all over the pear halves (in the divot and outside).
  • Place pear halves cut side up on a baking sheet and roast for 30 minutes.
  • Microwave leftover butter mixture for 10 seconds and spoon all over the baked pears.
  • Sprinkle with chopped walnuts.
  • Serve as-is or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

You can pressure cook pear halves on a rack with a bit of water beneath for a quick steam cook and perform a slow release before eating for instant tender pears. Use pre-chopped walnuts or pre-mixed honey and vanilla to save time. Store leftovers in airtight containers in the fridge for 2-3 days or freeze with honey butter sauce for longer storage.
